The Town of Gibsonville offers an open access PPO health plan. Open access means you do not need to select a primary care physician, nor do you need a referral to visit a specialist. You also have the option to use both in- and out-of-network benefits. As long as the providers are in-network, you will be covered at the higher benefit level. If you elect to go out-of-network, your benefits will be reduced and you may be subject to balance billing by the medical provider.
If you are outside of North Carolina, you should use the corresponding Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) network in that state so that you will be treated just as if you were in North Carolina.
